Graduated Picot Tree

Level 2

Students need to know basic ring, chain, join techniques. There are 2 small split rings.

Techniques: Students will learn making graduated picots with a picot gauge. They may use beads on picots if they wish.

Materials
2 shuttles; 1 color thread size 20, 30 or perle 8. Optional 50 seed beads. Picot gauges will be provided.

Preparation
Wind 2 shuttles CTM.
2 yards on Shuttle 1 and 3.5 yards on Shuttle 2.
For beaded version, thread 6 beads onto Shuttle 1 and 44 beads onto Shuttle 2. For effect of star on top, choose 4 matching beads different from the rest. On Shuttle 1 load beads in this order: 1 regular bead, 3 star color beads, 1 regular bead, 1 star bead, so the last star bead is closest to the shuttle. (Add beads to thread and then wind shuttle.)

Mrs. Mee's Snowflake

Level 2

Students need to know how to make rings and lock joins.

Techniques: They will learn some antique techniques: Josephine half rings and a special ring made with Mrs Mee’s “pearl stitch.”

Materials
1 shuttle and choice of thread (1 color), though I would not recommend using smaller than size 30.

Preparation
For size 20, wind approximately 6 yards; wind more for larger sizes.  This is a ring only design.

On Time: As a courtesy to your teacher and your classmates, please arrive ON TIME to your scheduled classes. If you finish your project early, or would like additional time to visit, shop, or see the silent auction items, you may leave any class early.
