Updated July 26, 2011

Winter Solstice

Level 2

It is either tatting with two shuttles or with one shuttle and ball using SLT when needed.

Techniques: The techniques include: rings, chains, lock joins, and swirl joins.

Materials and Preparation
Students are expected to bring:
Two shuttles preferably plain (without sharp picks or crochet hooks) and a separate crochet hook.

Recommended Kit
The supplies will be provided in $15 kits. Each kit will include: Seed beads size 11 strung on 3-ply metallic embroidery thread, ear wire, beading needle to hide the tails, and printed patterns for the project.

Students are welcome to use their own supplies, but they need to pre-string beads before the class to save time. Pre-strung beads should include: about 200 seed beads size 11 on 4 yards of thread for the pendant, about 280 seed beads size 11 on 4 yards of thread for the earrings, and up to 200 seed beads size 11 on 3 yards of thread for the neck chain.
