Materials

• Any size thread that will slide through your beads easily when made into a tatted chain. Metallics look really nice.

Design a Shuttle
Make Your Own Glass/Enameled Copper Tatting Shuttle
For All, get started Thursday evening.
“Make-It/Take It”
Cost of this activity is $25.00.

Partially finished shuttles will be provided. They will already be enameled, front and back, with various plain colors (such as clear, black, or white). Tatters will be shown at "The Artist Station" various ways to decorate their shuttle in techniques and colors of their choice including painting, sifting, use of stencils and stamps to name a few. Once decorated, Karen will torch-fire the enamel shuttle until it is a smooth, glass surface. The creations will be one-of-a-kind work of art that can be used as a tatting shuttle (flat, Hoare style) or worn as a decorative necklace. A rubber necklace will be supplied with the completed shuttle so that the tatting artist can wear their art piece if desired.

It is fun to put all the completed shuttles on a table for everyone to see.

To see some of my work, go to my etsy shop at: www.etsy.com/shop/theshuttlesmith
Keep in mind that not all enameling finishes can be accomplished in this informal situation.
